QQ: Can anyone tell me why the default 3D object color is now a shade of brown instead of the high contrast white? I’d be interested in the reasoning for the change.

I would assume it is the color around it reflecting on it.

Ah. It seems to be that even when there’s no other objects? I’m on version 2019.4.12f1. Not a big deal, just weird.

Yeah true. Does not make any sense.

Using Unity 2020 and have the same “problem”.
Colors look a bit weird, or at least slightly different from the material I selected.
Color white is some sort of beige.

Maybe the lighting or something like that?
Let me know if you should find a solution.

I did find a thing! The color from the lighting is defaulted to slightly yellow. Now I have white grey objects on creation, but fixing the color to white didn’t fix the darkness of the shadows. Glad I wasn’t the only one to notice.
