So I went for different things in each of my images. For the first one (Man) it gets lighter nearer to the top, representing sunlight I suppose. On the second one (Walk) the grey is meant to be his shadow, hope you can see that. 
Didn’t really know what to do with the dog so I drew a path for it. And the last one (Park) is meant to be a tree and a bench.
