My Orc/Ogre

Here my version of the character after sculpting. I looked at pictures of strongman athletes for reference.

Nice model. Wondering what the black dot on his face is?
And what do you think about his belt?

The black dot is an iron ring that protects a broken tusk. I really struggled with following the course for the belt and the bracelet. Even tho I used the same modifiers stuff kept clipping through my model. So I did the best I could.

Maybe it is also a blender version difference but the Multires Modifier did not behave like in the Video. Or I didn’t completely understand what it should do.

The multi-res didn’t work in previous versions of Blender (bug-related and if I remember correctly, also in the version used in the lessons). But basically, if you use a (working) multi-res. Work in the resolution for sculpting. And just bake from there.

The multi-res allows you also to go back in a lower resolution. Then that resolution is used for the bake. So, check if you are using the highest level you are using before bake.

Okay, some artistic freedom. Great idea!

The belt follows the orc belly too much, that’s why a ‘bump’ is visible.
If you are using a subsurface modifier. Add extra loops to sharpen the belt edges OR use a bevel OR use the subsurface grease option in the ‘n’ side panel.

But it is already a big achievement when you arrive at this orc project point. Fiddling the belt, maybe at a later moment. Just have fun and enjoy the course!
