I like yours!, especially the top
Here is my one, does anyone else think it’s a shame that we are doing this low poly after being taught how to make beautiful shiny and round pawns
Nice bishops, here’s mine… I think the low poly is more useful for those more dynamic purposes like for the games etc. I’m quite sure we will be taught how to make even more shiny beautiful things…
So I think the great challenge is to model with as lowest polygons as possible and continue having a perception of a piece we’d like to have.
Sometimes, simplification is more complicated than making complex things.
I don’t know if there is a similar quote in English, but in Brazil we use to say (something like) “less is more!”
(sorry for my poor English skills. I wish you could understand what I’d like to say)
O yes, I understand what you mean, and I agree. It is hard to 3D model low poly object without destroying the shape of the model, and we also need to look for the defining characteristics of the object for it to be recognisable despite being low poly… aaa struggle
I agree! It is difficult and i like the way it’ll be differant for each person because of a matter of perception
Ya, my perspective told me to shift the top a bit to the right… hopefully that won’t bit me in the butt later on
I’m using a different ref image. I extruded the knob on top. I hope this doesn’t cause a problem latter on.
I was thinking about carving the top out, but I feel like their is a reason why he did not do that in the first place.
My Bishop, it was a bit different at first but i modified it to be similar to the tutorial
