Hi there,
this is my King. I approached it in a similar way as Michael. I took the Queen as base and resized and remodeled her a bit. But the cross on the crown was made a bit different. Instead of extruding and loop-cutting I used a cube remolded it and brought both together with the Booloean modifier.
