My journey through Blender courses

Hi all, decided to share my Blender works as I go through the courses. It started on Jan-Feb 2026, that I began exploring Blender.

Jan 2026
Here goes the sheep of course  my first ever work completed. I feel excited

Feb 2026
The castle. I dived into the 3D environment course straight away and feel great about myself. I really enjoy this and want more

Feb 2026
My doomy corridor, it went out well i think. I struggle to go off the course path and be creative, sticking to all that is suggested in the course. I’m ready to move forward.
But by this point I started noticing the Blender community and works of many people, that felt both encouraging and intimidating and humbling

Feb 2026
The final scene of the course. Here I put up my first fight. There were 2-3 times I was not carefull and I lost good chunk of progress and had to do things all over again (had to learn pressing ctrl+s the hard way). Also due to my incompetency I think I overloaded my cpu/gpu with loads of stuff I was doing not very effectively (for example creating loads of shift+D copies instead of alt+D copies and much more) and my program was freezing all the time, made it hard to work at times. I felt tired by the end (considering the whole work took me 3-4 days to complete, as I’m working full time job..)
I feel proud of the result, but somehow I’m haunted by the thoughts that I was blindly following the video instructions, and even there I was finding myself lost and helpless sometimes…

My feelings are mixed at this point. It feels like I found something I enjoy a lot. Maybe I want to call it more than a hobby… I have big dreams of working in gamedev industry one day.

But I’m noticing more and more other people do stunning things in Blender, looking crazy complex.. Well, there’s a long road ahead I guess…

March 2026

During the Environment course I felt that I lack understanding of some basic concepts and get lost way too easily. Some muscle memory to do basics of modeling and shading.
I decided to take a step back and started “Complete Blender Creator” course by Grant Abbitt.

it feels nice and safe, I’m trying not to rush through the course, but take my time and really absorb how Grant works, to be able to mimic some simple actions on my own.

I like low-poly!

Dungeon. Finally felt brave enough to go out on youtube and add something from myself  not a lot though. Low-poly feels great, like I finally have chance to experiment and create something matching the environment on my own

March 2026

Another great course by Grant - Blender Low Poly Landscapes. Finished the scene and finally felt brave enough to make fair bit of experimenting and I like what I did on this one. Even though I still have no idea how some of lighting and render parts work

I’m really glad that you people reach out and say supportive words! That truly helps.

and night style one

March 2026

Another low-poly modeling. Keep going through the course bundle.

March 2026

My most recent works from courses by @Grant_Abbitt ! Trying to keep at it and not let myself discourage by all sorts of thoughts!

This one I’m probably most proud of, finally animated sth on my own  Even though its just eyes and camera :joy:

Yes, it can be overwhelming. But remember that some students have different experiences or have been working with Blender for a long time. Get inspired by the possibilities. And just ask questions, show your work, and ask for feedback if you enjoy doing so.

If you want to do more projects and thereby train your skills and memory muscles, join the weekly Blender Collab - GameDev.tv

Have fun!

Very relatable, but as I said before, ask questions and explain your problems. There are often other students willing to help you.

For example, you can also convert a shift d object into an alt d object. By converting the mesh data block.
