This is my first ever Unity game (and game in general) I have ever made! It’s a choose your own style type game, with a couple Game Over states, and (hopefully) interesting encounters! Any and all feedback is highly appreciated!
10/10 I got to ride a golden dragon
Great work, branching paths can be a hard one.
I thought the wording was a little strange ‘clicking the keys on your keyboard’ and some of the story sections, but nothing that made it difficult to understand what was going on really.
The color scheme is a bit too harsh on the eyes, too saturated. Reading bright saturated yellow on a deep saturated blue with a small, fancy font is challenging UI to make work. Honestly just making the blue darker work pretty wonders too.
It’s really great to take a screenshot of your game and try playing with the colors in any free art program to get a feel for some different hue and tone shifts.
I also wanted to mention, for games you plan to use fancy fonts on, it can be player-friendly to add optional toggles for the text size or changing the font to something less fancy.
Hope it doesn’t offend anyone to show a couple comparisons of just color ideas:
Original from the game
Darkened the blue and the outer reds, I thought the green pop gave a nice, highlighted edge still.
I love this old choose-your-adventure, text games. Think you’ll make more or moving onto new game styles next?
I highly appreciate the response and feedback! Would’ve gotten back to you sooner, but I got sick shortly after uploading the game. I was worried about the colors, and am glad to see some edits of how it could look easier on the eyes. While I will note the togging fonts option for the future, this game was made directly in conjunction with an online lesson I was following, and it didn’t go over how to put in togging fonts for this project.
Overall, I’m glad you enjoyed! I definitely wanna make more choose-your-own adventure type games in the near future. For my next uploaded project however, we will see what my future lessons have in store. Unless I get a surge of creativity haha
