Iām liking this version better, because now you can see the sky and water, whereas in the first render, all of the background is solid black.

Nicely made lighthouse scene, lighter one is easier to see.
The lighthouse itself could be right clicked and shade auto smoothed.

Light fog really helps the light beam effect.
