Hey, im a begineer in Blender, and i would like to share my first serious work. I know it ain’t perfect, but i know I will get better in the future (well, i hope…). Anyway, I would like to hear from you some tips or things that could lately improve my work.
Don’t mind that ball in the background, i forgot to disable render to it.
That is a great start. Your eye for proportion and scale seems good. The blender skills will come as you work through the course. So its often best not to expend too much time on models when you may be struggling to get something to happen that later has a tool that does it easily.
Welcome to this site.
Cool ship! Is it based on something, or your own design?
I agree with @NP5. The course is pretty good at teaching a lot of general techniques, so don’t worry if something is difficult now, just have to stick with it.
Didn’t notice till you mentioned it, but now I want to know. Looks like a planet maybe?
Thanks! This ship is my own design, actually it took me about 2 minutes to ‘invent’ the look of my ship in my head, but mostly, I just improvised and tried different shapes and scales.
Aaand yes… it was meant to be a planet, but i didn’t know how to color it and light it properly, so I just ignored it for that moment. Right now, I tried to play with backgroud (also took a look at some youtube tutorials), in the end, I added a ‘space’ background to give my picture a little bit immersion.
Also I tried to render it in cycles… My pc didn’t like it too much, but I think that the picture now looks more realistic.
