Still need to adjust many things to make it look good. But I learned a lot so far

Very well done this Chess Set. And a great first post. 
Just one suggestion is to have the light settings some what similar to the lecture, using such combination of cold and warm color makes the scene more appealing. And it can be used almost in every scene. Keep Blending

Nicely done low poly set.
You might bevel the board edges to take off the perfect sharpness of 3D geometry.
