My first original Portfolio piece! [as a 3d artist I suppose]

I’m very proud and happy to show my first sculpt that I deemed portfolio-ready!

Huge thanks to everyone here! [obviously - special thanks to Grant]
It is truly a magnificent feeling- when you can imagine something, make a rough sketch, and move on to making it into physical form! [as far as virtual things go, I guess]
And then lay back and look at your creation! [will try to open it up in VR later - even cooler, I hope]

2d sketch of idea to have as a reference:

Some instances of progress + a bit of pain in all unlikely places thanks to nodes/layers in painting, need more practice:

And a final result itself!

So, thanks for attention, more to come!)

Very nice Dragon head! Now for the whole body!

Very nice sculpt.
I do think it can use a next level of skin details. Due to the head close up you expect to see more wrinkles, etc. Or, am I a bit influenced by all those dinosaur movies?

Great project, a nice portfolio starter!

That’s a great result; definitely worthy of being a portfolio piece! I do agree with FedPete in that the skin seems to be of lower detail than the other features, but from me it’s a very minor point as a lot depends on how the model would be used. Congratulations!

I like the dragon. It has a definite dinosaur look to it which works well. I like the purple sections showing through the outer flesh.
