Had one issue which is that my eraser tool is kinda wonky. It doesn’t stay in a square shape it is some weird shape.

Are you using libresprite?
A little trick I use is to have my secondary color set to complete transparency and use that instead of the dedicated eraser. That way left click paints right click erases and if you hold Alt on your keyboard you get a color-picker.
