My Final Dragon - Blue Dragon in the mist

I’m pleased with the result though the process was full of mistakes and re-do’s. A thin and spindly dragon was a bit of a challenge for the auto re-mesh and rigging. I had a bit of a fight (which I didn’t win) with the neck and tail to try and get the bends smooth (I must look up bendy bones). Still. It was a great experience and a huge thrill to see one of my designs come to life! I must do more …after a little lie down :grinning:

The BG HDRI is from poly haven and the photo scanned rocks are by Lassi Kaukonen on Sketchfab.

Your character has a certain quality in design we do not often see in this course.
It is a well-designed character with its own identity, well done!

Do remember, practice is the key here. Do many small projects. Try to solve or recognize problems upfront.

Thanks. I think you are right. Smaller projects are the key. This one took me a bit too long if I’m honest. My next project will be much smaller and probably should involve manual re-topology…or is so small no retopo is needed

Very cartoon characterful dragon.
Well done getting through the spindly issues.
Manual retoppo is always better and not actually that hard to do.
Even better (imo) start with the ‘retoppo’, block model then use multires.

Thanks. Aaaah. That makes sense. Ill look in to it :+1:
