My decimated Orc

I’ve decimated my Orc to low poly.
It’s about 18.5K tris, 9.4K faces.

I had some technical problems. Saving was difficult after retopologize.
Blender crashed at saving the file (not saving the changes). Not sure why? I solved it by saving the project after each step. Also, there was one annoying vertex, at the middle (x=0). Part of the Mirror x-ax, who didn’t want to stick in the middle, even when the mirror modifier had clipped on.
I think this because my high-res model is not a good mirrored sculpted mesh. I told this before that while sculpting the mirror function sometimes didn’t work. The tutor had the same problem.

But here I am. Ready for the next lesson UV-unwrapping. A tool which I have already good knowledge of. But will see if we can learn new tricks.

I’d be interested in seeing the UV map once you have it done. It always intrigues me to see where others mark their seams when it comes to characters.

Without any knowledge from the teacher.
I place them at the location where the camera is not looking.
or hide them behind something else, like the belt.
But with good UV maps and paint properties.
Stitches are not a big issue anymore.
But I’ll see if this still works, after a complex object like this.
Likely to have CPU problems.
