The specialization statement I wrote up for an earlier part of this course mentions that I’ll be doing gameplay AND tools programming. Thing is, that with the type of the latter I want to do… Well, I believe I’ll need a lot more skill with coding certain gameplay mechanics. So until I’m super-confident with that, I’ll just stick to gameplay. Ideally getting a job in that before putting any focus on tools.
Eventually, I’d like to fulfill my dream: making a free, open-source RPG toolkit for Unity that’d make RPG Maker users feel right at home. With monetization based more on systems than merely graphical and audio assets.
