My chess set -- Photos and LP model

Hey guys! Love this course. For this assignment I took photos of the chess set I bought at a flea market when I was 12 and modeled that set in LP.

There is still a lot to be improved in lighting, texturing and rendering, but I’m pretty happy with how the models themselves came out!

I included a clean, not fully textured render to show the models, and an in-the-action render because it looks cool ^^

Great example and project progress.

Great job on the low poly copy.
You could have smooth shaded it. But angular set looks good still.

Interesting to see the comparison with the real one. I note the wood grain in the board squares is in line, but your copy is diagonal. Likewise the board edge, the real one is mitred at the corners so the grain runs along the lengths of each side. More advanced texturing could add those real scuffs and scratches that make so much difference to the real thing.
