When I parent say my lower arm/stem object and lower arm/stem armature, moving the base around in object mode and it no longer controls the arm as it did before introducing the armature into the scene. So parenting with the armature destroys the original parenting? Normal or am I missing a step somewhere?
Think i have responded in the Udemy Q&A on this one but following it just in case.
You need to think as if it is a tree with roots, trunk and branches.
Some people will create an extra empty and use that as a main parent ro the armature, and armature to the mesh object.
I was leaving the base out of it for some reason. I would go top to bottom then add the armatures, lose parenting and try a different way without the base. So it goes now stem>armature, arm>armature, armature>base. I seem to enjoy being my own worst enemy sometimes apparently.
