Now it is a bit more “renderable” with the materials on. I thought I have to keep all different materials on different objects

Just by the by, blender doesnt offer something akin to substance, right? or does it?
Well, there is an add on mentioned very recently.
You can texture paint in Blender, it’s just not as user friendly as Substance apparently. Never bothered with Substance, they want money for it, not encouraging that!
Depends on what you want to do, I am happy with image textures.
Yup I’m still learning Layer Painter, but I’m liking it quite a bit and can easily recommend it!

Oh, I have student access to it for a few more months… That is my window of getting to learn any substance programs. But yeah, not sure if that is sustainable. So I guess, spending time on layer painter would be wiser. Thank you for the recommendation.
I was fortunate to get the steam version at a discount. For that you do a one time purchase and get the full program, but no yearly updates.
But like NP5 said, free is better
