Modular Tanks for the Kitty Corp

I was struggling to stay engaged in building the tanks because vehicles are less personally interesting to me than organic shapes, but I knew it was important to learn the skills and tools we were practicing. I think this is the same thing I ran into when I was doing the “Basics” course and stopped mid airplane. But this time I made myself keep going even though I wasn’t particularly inspired, because sometimes that’s the job XD

Then I decided to add texturing to make them fit with the Kittymech I made earlier, and they are so much more fun now.

And this, friends, is a prime case study of how you fix motivation problems similar to this one. Excellent job!

Cute and deadly!

Got to the part where he’s making us uvmap to a color block texture and I had already mapped them all to individual materials, so I made my own tiny (256px) texture with the colors I had been using. This turned out cute when I hooked it in so I’m sharing it xD

Really cute [texture painting?]. Looks like licorice all sorts. Love it.

This one really made me laugh (in a good way mind you); the stubby tank barrel makes it look more like a pig now than a cat! XD

Ahahaha! I will never be able to unsee that now, so let’s embrace it xD Pigtank of the Kitty Corp.

Both cute and terrifying. Why do I suddenly want to model a Dalek with cat ears? EXTERMIN…MEOW!

I wonder if this is what George Orwell was thinking when he wrote Animal Farm.

“Some animals are more equal than others” and what kitty would argue with this piggy tank?

Realized I forgot to show the final set! I unwrapped Kittymech to the texture of the modular tanks and added it to the set. Enjoy the modular Kitty Corp!

Spider-Kitty, Spider-Kitty, does whatever a Spider-Kitty does…

The one behind the original pig-tank - did it lose its ears in battle or is that deliberate (stealth reasons maybe)?

Nice logo on the sides as well - just noticing that now =)

I… forgot to add them XD

I envision the “ears” to actually be functionally independently swiveling floodlights to aid in targeting under nocturnal conditions.
