Modular Dungeon - Creating Door Surroundings - Moving origin to the middle?

Hi, silly question.
When I move the origin to mirror an object (in this case, the doorway), am I supposed to eyeball the middle or is there a way to place it properly at mid-distance in relation to another object? (in this case the wall).

Thank you!

Depends. On the person and what is there to help.
Eyeballing is often good enough for many people, the item may not need perfection.

If you have another object that is in the right place you can set the 3D cursor to it. Or to any mid point of a loop of verts or some such selection.

With the 3D cursor positioned then you can move the origin/mirror point to it. This would be the most common and standard method.

Please give full screenshots with any questions. With the relevant panels open.
Also, include the lecture time and name/number that is relevant to the problem/issue.
The screenshot can be done by Blender itself, via the ‘Window’ menu bar top left hand side.
On that menu drop down is ‘save screenshot’.
Close ups additionally where they help.

An other solution could the use of an EMTY object. And use that Object to mirror on.

Note: Because the EMPTY is part of the mirror object construct, they should be manipulated (movement) at the same time. This can be managed by PARENTING the EMPTY to the mirrored object.

To expand on this answer a little more, when you select vertices or faces, the 3d cursor will always be perfectly in the middle of everything selected. So what I did was select all the faces on the bottom of the wall and set the cursor, then leaving edit mode and going back to object mode, select the drop down “Object” menu, which can be found to the right of “view”, “select”, “add” (top left of the window). When the drop down appears click “Set Origin” > “Origin to 3D Cursor”

Yes very much the standard way of setting the cursor and then the origin to it. Thanks for giving more details.
