Model A Dragon

No matter how long the sculpture process takes, the results are always satisfying. A huge thank you to @Grant_Abbitt for bringing this to us. I have so much more to learn from you.

Dramatic dragon render. With icy cold ‘flame’ breath!

Thank you so much

Great project!
I would have made the background (the forest) a little less dark.
If you look at that more closely, you’ll get a better sense of the dragon’s size.
And if you replace the trees behind the dragon with roofs and a church tower, you give the image more narrative.

Oh, thank you so much for your thoughts. Yes, I can’t quite grasp the sheer size of a mountain as you mentioned. I didn’t pay much attention to that when I was making it. A giant dragon visiting a small town would look amazing. I’ll try your suggestion.

I love the colors you chose for this; it looks great! Think you’ll sculpt another dragon?

Thank you.

I thought these colors evoked a cold, foggy, and gloomy atmosphere. A standard fire-breathing dragon wouldn’t fit in such an atmosphere. So, I thought a dragon would fit in here.

Why not another one? Maybe this time I’ll try a cute, low-polygon dragon with less detail. The topology of sharp teeth and claws can be really challenging.
