Can someone explain to me how this space was created? I honestly don’t know what I did wrong or is it my alignment point.

To get a better grip on this problem and a more Blender common sense approach it to use an EMPTY.
- Use
shift c
to set the cursor in the center axis (0,0,0) - Add an EMPTY (object), which is now placed at (0,0,0)
- In the mirror modifier the
mirror object
to this EMPTY - If somehow you change the origin point of an object (can happen) or move the object itself. All stays the same.
- If you assign all the object parts to the EMPTY as children (Empty is the parent), then moving the empty, moves all the connected objects and the mirror will still work.
