Mirror modifier after applied

Hello everyone! I am new to blender and I am currently working on a fun project. I used the mirror modifier and I didn’t notice the issue days after applying it when I was weight painting. I noticed that there are two shades of the mesh and its probably because of the mirror modifier. I have seen many talk about this but the thing is my modifier have already been applied days before so I cant control Z. Does anyone know what I can do to remove this?

General Q&A note

Help us all to help you.
Please give full screenshots with any questions. With the relevant panels open.
This can be done by Blender itself, via the ‘Window’ menu bar top left-hand side.
On that menu dropdown is ‘save screenshot’.

  • You can delete one half and add the mirror again.

Oh sorry about that and thank you for your answer  Here is one sceenshot. I dont know if i can just delete and add a modifier at this point? By this stage different body parts that didnt have a mirror modifier have been joined together.

Okay, check for obvious problems.

  • did you use merge (Clipping) in the mirror modifier
  • check normals (I see dark blue)
  • do you have a face in the center of the mirror? (you need NO solid object for the mirror) - remove face

Select mesh, tab into edit mode, press A to select all, m->by distance. Then alt+z to tiggle x-ray mode. Make sure there aren’t any face inside the mesh. Another way to check this without going into x-ray is to select some of the outer faces and press H to hide. Once you’re done then you can alt+h to unhide all hidden faces.
