Minor clarification needed!

Hello,

I made a bunny using multiple metaballs. The thing is when I select them all together and convert into a mesh, all the metaballs are separately converted into mesh objects. I assume it should give one mesh object as a whole.

I later joined them together (ctrl + J) to make a single mesh object, but as per the video, we are supposed to get only one mesh object when we convert metaballs into a mesh.

Please help me to discover what am I doing wrong.

I have the same problem, and I did some research on it, and the answer is not good. BUT, it’s also designed this way and is pretty normal.

It seems there may not be a way to do this. The only way to “fix” this in any way would be to apply techniques of retopology, and that’s extremely time-consuming. Alternatively, it may work to decimate or unsubdivide the model and match the vertices up. This is tricky, too, and may not be worth it if it’s too high poly.
