Mini farm house (rendering cycles vs eevee)

So, I thought of messing around a bit with the different types of renders so I could see the application behind the theory and share my discoveries for any of you who might be insterested. Here’s what I got:

Cycles

Eevee

Now I noticed the main difference is that the lighting is much more natural in cycles, but the render took much longer by comparison even at 50% resolution (reason for it being so pixelated). I guess the best idea is to test render in eevee and leave cycles just for final or particularly important renders that deserve the waits.

Good scene, great fence.

Yes renderers that is about it. Cycles is best but slow. It is why they created Eevee. Just have to watch out before committing to a long render, some bits can render differently. Transparency for example. Cycles has a denoise option though that works pretty well to clean up lower samples renders.

I usually switch to Cycles if I’m trying to do something more realistic. Eevee is cool–and so fast!–but can look kind of cartoony. Then again, I’ve seem some really awesome renders others have made using Eevee.

So much better than the old Blender Render we had before 2.8!

Blender Guru uses Eevee for realistic renders. You just need to know more about Eevee, than the default parameters.
