I know the Mayans were in the jungles but I decided to go with sand instead.

Looks like it will soon be engulfed by the sand dunes. 
Small point, there seems to be a gap between the steps and their side walling on the left hand side as you look at the first image.

on top of the mountain why have you given a cube and sphere delete thoe and the image is too griny denoise it using blender 2.83 it has a denoise fetature
it’s obviously intended for blood… you know, all those sacrifices can become a little messy
