after some delay, got through section 2, and finished the Mayan Pyramid, feels great! One way I diverged during the lesson was to use the face loop select with select normals to select all the skywards (z up) facing surfaces and then subdivide them and do some checker select, insetting and extruding to try and get the effect of some grooves on the surface. It was fun, but then when I wanted to make the ramp I had a much harder time deleting the geometry for the staircase the way Mike had in the video. I ended up deleting all the edges and manually selecting the messed up topology and filling it piecemeal. I need to go back and review how to do it the way he suggested, and see if maybe it would be possible even with a lot of extra vertices and edges in the topology. Lots of fun in the course so far, enjoying getting better bit by bit.

Looking good. Well done on the grooves.
I just think you might have a bit of unwanted stuff at the corners of the grooves area?
