Material Problem

I have a problem with the foot of the table. In the viewport it looks just fine, black metal. But when I render it appears silver. What is wrong there?

Thanks and cheers

Have you selected the metal faces in edit mode and then assigned them to the black metal colour?

Looks like they still think they are the default material.

Yes I did several times  but it did not work…
It is quite odd that the material is just missing if I render it out.
I guess something in the renderproperties?

Hmm i would try removing the materials from the table and add a different one on there to rule out it being the material

  • Check normals
  • Make roughness higher, specular less
  • Need to see the material nodes, because you say metal, so how did you achieve metal?

Metal by definition has no colour!

Is there something else going on too? The base plate has ‘fans’ of light effect. While actually being in shadow so they are not the edge of the table letting light onto it.

Hello,

thanks for all the answers!!!

I finally managed the problem by deleting the material and create a new one.

The base plate gets lite from the side. There is a “window” which lights the scene decently, without destroying the lamp-cosyness…

by “metallic”

‘metalic’ option in your example was 0!
