Hi! I’ve tried to darken stones by myself. Instead of using Hue Saturation Value, I went with Mix node and made Color2 black. Is it also the right approach to this problem, are there any downsides to it?

Would seem a perfectly reasonable approach. It may have some less flexibility but if it gives you a result you want it is fine.
