So this is my idea for a mage’s chess set made out of mana crystals. In my head, I have the crystals slowly spinning and bobbing, but I don’t know how to animate yet.

Pretty, but not easy to play with! That is why there is a standard chess set.
If you are not a beginner then fine do your own thing, but the point of the course is to teach you tools and methods.
