A question if I may. How do I changer the background from white? In my view, it shows as checkered and only changes at render.

Easiest way would be putting a plane at 90 degrees and give it a color.

If it is checkered it is transparent, which gets turned white.
Render properties panel; film; transparent; tick box. Untick.
Somehow it got ticked. It is used for more advanced rendering and compositing in a background image.
