In this case I decided to use a cylinder as a shape for a notch. I scaled it for the right radius and length and than in edit mode selected a few top edges of the cylinder and pulled them up. Than scaled those edges a bit inwards to get a desired shape. I think I like bishop better with a rounded bottom of the notch.
