Started with a new cylinder object originating from the center of the top face of the base, made the # of vertices match the base to make it all look whole. Then extruded from the top and threw in some loop cuts a bevels to mimic the circular head. I started with a sphere but didnt like the amount of geomtry it added and how it did not mesh well with the low-poly feel I was going for.
