Low Poly Pawn

The same model rendered in flat and smooth shading.


I noticed that some details in the model geometry are lost when its smooth shading. I tried using mean crease edges but I feel like I missed a step somewhere. In the second render I tried adjusting the normal autosmooth angle.


A smooth shading render without messing with the normal setting.

I tried adjusting the geometry a bit. Dissolving some edges or moving/scaling them around to highlight the detail.
