Low Poly Dinosaur

Originally wanted to create a short animation, got frustrated with walk cycle, abandoned for over a year. Recently got back to it, scrapped the animation idea, added some details, quickly painted dino and bam, here it is

Aimed for sort of a swampy, cretaceous age-like area, where two t-rexes meet (for a cup of tea? who knows)
Of course GScatter addon not working anymore, so got stuck with some plants stuck weirdly on the side of the hills, oh well, happens. On to the next thing!

Very nice, great work on the realistic like landscape and plants.
T-Rex may be a bit out of scale to the trees? Hard to know, lol. I am old but no that old!

“Back in my day, the T-rexes were twice this size!” XD

Joking aside, this looks really nice, and I agree the more sophisticated trees do a lot to sell the landscape you’re aiming for. I did notice that the foot claws appear to use the same material as the skin, so you may want to adjust those areas to make them pop a bit more. It looks from here like you could do this with the teeth as well (unless of course he just finished a nice golden curry).

Great scenes!
Just follow the course, there is so much more to learn and getting acquainted with.
You put a lot of work into the scene. With more Blender knowledge you will understand 3D development processes better. Then you are able to do some animations and/or creating walking cycles in a more efficient ways.

Thanks very much! Actually did some googling and asked gpt - trex’s hip height could have been around 4m and the largest cycad tree around 10m, so sizes should match if the info is correct

Be interesting to add an in scale sauropod with the long neck for reaching up to tree tops.

Just wow! That looks so COOL! Really dig the environment you placed your theropod and great job on that t-rex. The subtle texture works really well too.

That looks great, my friend. The landscape sets off the dino nicely. The colours are also a good combination.
