I can’t get enough of these beginner / low poly courses! Here’s my attempt at a cyborg army

Nice setup!

Try to use world lighting or a sun lamp.
Now we see some unexpected shadows.

Thanks! I had a sun lamp originally, but with all of the robots very clearly visible I found the image was way too ‘noisy’ to look at, so I dimmed the sun considerably and placed spotlights on the front row of robots to give the image a bit of focus

Ahhh, yes you’re right for the wanted effect.
Now I understand.

… you could use then a wide (rectangle) area lamp.
