UPDATE: I decided to to all-in and actually turn the project into a functioning chess game: Just Plain Chess by calebjross
Here are a few images from my low poly chess set. Overall, I’m quite happy with the results.

A shot of the black Knight maybe readying for an attack on the King. The source images I used had really dumb, super-round eyes that I simply had to keep intact with my low-poly set. I’m a sucker for a dumb horse face.
