Low Poly Chess Set Final Render

I really enjoyed this section of the course. Good tips on using specific techniques to create the models in multiple ways. I make some mistakes and choices I would do different next time. My king has a weird crown due to it being circular and the mouth of my horse provided some challenges, but I do like how the set turned out in the final result.

My render with the DoF close camera angle kept crashing on render, so I unfortunately can’t share that one. I was able to render a flyby animation for my showcase scene.

Hi, it is a pity that Blender crashes!
Which version of Blender do you use.
And did you try to lower display size and render sample (Cycles)?
Less memory consumption.

I am running Blender 2.90.1. Lowering the render to around 1080p did solve the problem. The issue only arises with DoF and other added effects in Eevee for that specific shot.

Cycles doesn’t give me any issues. Probably because it always renders in tiles instead of everything at once?

Mostly it’s a memory problem. Asking to much details. To many sub divisions, etc.
Number of tiles depends on CPU (how many cores do you have) or GPU, the number of CUDA’s.
And Eevee is faily new, so bugs could occur.
