Even though my pawn model is not really low-poly, I suppose it is still quite economical for other than game purposes.
With this size can easily have all the pieces in one file.
Rendered with and without subdivisions.

Low poly is just the amount of vertices, to make your model useful in the situation is it (intended) for.
Adding details you can not see, have no use then.
Just enjoy the course, low poly isn’t that important in the stage.

Take some time to look around and take part.
Good smooth looking pawn. Low poly is not good for the sake of it. Only where the end use has a need for it. So do not worry about having a medium poly version. High with subdiv added.
Oh and the head seems not joined to the body?
