Looking for Feedback on my Updated Portfolio Website

I’ve been actively searching for job opportunities, but it’s been a challenging time with limited listings. When I do apply, I often receive the dreaded “unfortunately” responses, so I’m looking for honest feedback to help me get past the initial screening stage, which I’ve been struggling with.

I’ve recently updated my portfolio from the version I created in 2024, incorporating a lot of advice and insights I’ve gathered over the years. I’m really trying to understand how I can improve it further, what I should focus on, what might be missing, or what could be holding me back.

I’m very passionate about working in the games industry, but I haven’t been able to get that breakthrough yet, and I want to make sure I’m moving in the right direction.

I’ve attached my portfolio here: https://cdsid10.github.io/

I’d really appreciate you taking the time to review it and share any honest feedback.

First impression: it looks like a basic skill set.
It’s good low poly fun, but just plain puppets with standard animation.

The question is, what do you want to promote for your self?
Is it:

  • Game mechanics
  • Design
  • UX / UI
  • Low poly / High poly
  • Animation
  • Sculpting
  • Development
  • etc.

Creating a portfolio is difficult, you need more channels. Not only a website, but presents everywhere. From Instagram to BlueSky … a lot of work.

“I want to work in the game industry”, but as what?

What are your competencies, and how is that demonstrated?
How, what, and why … or The situation, your task, your actions, the outcome of this.

I’ve modeled a high-poly, but it took to much render time, so I optimized to the poly count, by manual refactoring, no triangles, having a 80% reduction of polycount.

Don’t give up, just have fun!
