So I am trying to set up a lightning for my Chess Scene but for some reason the shadows are extremely long… You can see the settings I have in the lower right corner. Any ideas why that might be and how to fix it?

It’s because of the light type (point) and the distance to the checkered floor.
If you choose sun lamp, there is no relation to the floor. But only the direction of the sun light determines the shadow size. If you want , you can choose two suns, each with a different color.
