In Blender 2.90 with Lock Object Mode switched off, I still can not switch easily between two objects by pressing alt+LMB. I tried to do the same in Blender 2.83 and it worked flawlessly there. Is this a bug somebody else came across or any thoughts about why this might occur?
Welcome to this site.
Not a thing I even realised existed.
Or what particular use case it has. I just click the item I want without Alt.
However, this explains why some may turn it off.
Lock Object Mode YouTube informational.
On my 2.91, Alt click pops up a menu of objects to switch to… That would seem to be working as intended? So it might be a bug fix?
Thank you NP5.
I didn’t specify this accurately enough. While sculpting and having to switch between multiple objects I frequently have to ctrl+tab to object mode, select the mesh I want to sculpt on next just to ctrl+tab back into sculpt mode. This can be a tedious task and apparently you can speed this up by switching off Lock Object Mode. If it is ticked off you are supposed to be able to alt+LMB on another mesh while in sculpt mode and select another one so you can continue sculpting without any further interruptions.
They have changed this behavior.
At first, this switch was placed somewhere else (not in a menu). I forgot where!
Now it has become a click icon in the outliner.
I prefer the LMB alt, but maybe you can create your own short cut !
Thanks FedPete.
Damn, that’s a shame.
I would really prefer if it was still the old way.
This way I have to name my meshes more accurate in the early stages of character creation.
Maybe there is a way you can customize this behavior…
I will post it in this thread if I find something.
edit: I couldn’t find anything
That is always a good thing!
I think this is more of a friendly UI solution. The old one was more or less hidden, you had to now the trick. With the icons, it is more (new) user-friendly.
