Literature for methods, patterns, concepts

Hi,

could anyone recommend books for the methods, patterns, concepts used in this course and in general in game development?
For example the Onion Design or GDD @Rick_Davidson used in his lectures.

I have to write an assignement about concepting and implementing a game for university and need books as source :wink:

Would be really awesome if there are some suggestions :slight_smile:

For game design my favourite is Jesse Schelle’s “The Art of Game Design”.

You wont find onion design in a book, however… that is pure Rick. :slight_smile:
