Hey everybody
After an evening of tinkering with all the parameters, this renders in 15.7 seconds on my Macbook Pro with 8-Core Intel Core i9 using Blender 2.9.3.0.
… and with a shiny floor…

It’s amazing what “expressions” the ball can have when all the finger holes are facing the camera.
