Lighting Is Not Affecting My Object

Hello everyone,

Hoping for some assistance figuring this one out. Near the end of the course, and I am noticing that the light is not affecting the model that I brought into Blender with the animations. I read online that the emission shader I am using will act as a flat color and/or emit light. When I turn the emission under viewer off, my character goes pure white.

Please see below my current layout:

Thank you for any assistance.

What render engine are you using? Eevee does NOT cast light out like a lamp light from an emission object, it just makes the area glow.

  • Your PBR-shader is not connected?!
  • The emission is “BLACK” meaning none.
  • Your “overlay” node FACTOR is 1, Meaning 100% is used of one input, so overlay is null or 100%

Does this help?

Alright,

Figured it out. Connected my overlay to the Principaled BSDF instead of the viewer. All working now.

Thank you everyone!
