Lighting/asset placement!

i brought in some megascans and made some emissive lights for the windows

Wow this is nice! The windows are very bright though. Are they neon lights?

They’re very bright and it could be done a lot more realistic looking with some static/spot lights, they’re just planes with emissive textures on them.

I just like the glow they give to the surrounding area lol

You gotta love unreal. What you could do is parameterize the emission strength in your material and use a Material Instance instead of the material. This would let you play around with the strength and in fact would enable you to later create a dynamic material instance and vary the light - you could add some flicker to the lights to make them a bit more creepy.

I love the UE materials engine. It’s brilliant.
