The white spot in bottom-right is “sun”/moon light reflected in water. I guess it should not be there. What do you think?
The white spot is a bit prominent indeed. It hardly would be so big or flat if it were real… but the result is cute overall
It’s allowed to be there for sure, no worries, but it does look slightly unrealistic and artificial at the moment, and there are two reasons I can think of for that.
- First, for a moon reflection, it seems gigantic (unless we’re playing Majora’s Mask, lol)
- And second, your scene is so dark that we can’t see the horizon. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with having a dark scene, it does make it much harder for your audience to see details. Plus, with a moon reflection that big, the scene wouldn’t be that dark unless there were fantasy/magical/sci-fi explanations behind it.
At the end of the day though, you’re just getting started and you’ve done a solid job of this project! The points I listed are all easily fixed, and you probably only did it this way because these things hadn’t occurred to you yet. Keep going and have fun!
The white circle is a lamp reflection, the size of it, is the size of the lamp.
With the new Blender 4.# you can remove those lamp artifacts.
Cycles only.
thanks!
This lighthouse is so good! I love the moon reflecting in the water. I think it makes the night scene more spooky.
