Light leaking in room made with BSP Brushes (UE5 for C++ course)


in UE5 for C++ course, lesson 24, light is leaking through the walls:

How to fix this?


Did you convert it to a static mesh first?

No, in lesson 24 that is not done and no light leaks through.
I tried rotating the sun directional light; it just changes where the light leaks in but doesn’t solve the problem.

Does it improve if you do? Select all boxes and in the details panel under advanced use convert to static mesh.

I converted the walls to a static mesh and also rebuilt the lighting: unfortunately no improvement.
