The faster I can do something, the more wiling I am to get it done. I love shortcuts, and since Blender is 6 feet deep in shortcuts, I do appreciate the fact that you sometimes list off the keys.
Definitely not annoying. In fact, when you show something on the menu system, Iām always looking for a shortcut key I can use instead. Iāve been agonizing about the lack of a shortcut key for switching selection types, so the CTRL-TAB thing was brilliant.
That said, I am a VIM editor kind of person, so my answer may be skewed.
Personally, I like the short cut keys. I find the moving with a mouse too slow and tedious. Go Hot Keys!!!
I use the shortcut keys. Iām only glad you are sharing them, spares me the trouble of hunting them down myself! They are there to make the process more efficient and fast, there will always be a little memorisation, and you are great at showing were to find the solutions if one wouldnāt make use of the shortcuts. It would get tiresome if you went to the menus āeveryā time.
definitely should stay in lecture. Iām a hotkey person
I like the hotkeys and the way you slowly introduce them. Since Blender uses so many hotkeys, it can become overwhelming. There are tutorials Iāve watched for beginners that cover way too many of them at once. But at this pace itās much easier to remember them, especially because we get to practice the ones you mention in the lesson. The nice thing is that you also show alternatives for the hotkeys.
Im trying to use the hotkeys, although as a this will be for casual use / fun, I dont know how many I will remember in the long run. I do see that knowing them will be very helpful. For the exercise I used the hotkeys, but then typed the numbers in the slider. I see it would have been quicker just to type without selecting the slider.
It was amazing how fast the Mayan Pyramid could be created using only short-cut keys. I think any artist who wants to get things done FAST would behoove themselves to learn all the possible short-cuts they can! Thereās really no faster way to get edits done than short-cut keys, whether in Blender or Photoshop.
I like the use of hot keys, and used them myself. I also entered exact measurements for the insets and extrudes.
It may seem like a lot of hotkeys but I find it extremely efficient to work with them.
I like knowing what quick-keys/hotkeys there are, so it definitely wasnāt overwhelming for me
I try to remember as many short cut keys as I can, so I appreciate being taught them. Thanks!
Personally, I use keyboard shortcuts in any tool where available so they are useful. I do tend to forget them and blender has so many of them.
I think you have the right balance in introducing the short cut keys. Definitely appreciated, thank you!
I consider shortcuts very useful and not intimidating at all. I must say, anyway, that I usually have a document next to me in which I note all the shortcuts that we learn during the course, just in case I forget anything
Short-cuts are essential for all 3d work. I used shortcuts when doing my pyramid, so itĀ“s good to get started. IĀ“m actually having more problems with the G(rab) feature because it then moves allover the place in an instant⦠IĀ“m using a wacom pen so thats probably why itĀ“s better to use the short-cuts for exact and quick modellingā¦
All shortcuts are handy and useful, so for me are excellent ways to work.
Iām coming from the programming world where keyboard shortcuts are super important. I love that Blender has so many shortcuts and learning them in context to creating something is very valuable in my opinion.
I love shortcuts
I appreciated you used shortcuts, they are really handy! Thanks
