I couldn’t select the vertex , edges or faces.I have been watching the video 17 for longtime and more than 5 hours I have been working on that .Couldn’t resolve .Please help me to move further.

I am sorry you are having difficulties.
Are you right clicking or left clicking?
Are you using a 3 button mouse?
I have tried this on my blender (using the same blender version) and having no issues.
